"Full Arch", in Plain English
A whole row of teeth in one jaw, screwed on to implants: four on the healed and staged pathways, four to six on the same-day and guided ones. It stays in at night. You brush it as you would your own teeth, paying a bit more attention under the bridge, and every three months our hygienist cleans round and under it here, leaving it in place.
When four implants do the job it's often called All-on-4. The rear pair are tilted to reach denser bone, which frequently means no graft is needed. Softer bone may call for five or six, and the same-day and guided pathways allow for that within their fee.
We use MegaGen AnyRidge implants, which hold the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal (a seal for the implant itself, not for the practice). Each arch is planned digitally from your CT scan, and a custom MegaGen R2 surgical guide comes with the Premium Guided Zirconia pathway.
Surgery Day, Step by Step
The part most people dread. How the day runs depends on your pathway, but nothing happens that wasn't planned beforehand.
Getting Comfortable
The jaw is numbed with local anaesthetic. If you've opted for IV sedation (£500 per session) that goes in first, and you'll be relaxed and sleepy the whole way through.
Any Remaining Teeth
On the same-day and guided pathways, any teeth beyond saving are removed gently at this appointment. On the staged pathway they come out months earlier, and a jaw that has already healed needs no extractions.
Implants Placed to the Plan
Each implant goes where your CT plan put it. If you've chosen Premium Guided Zirconia, its angle and depth are also held by a custom 3D-printed guide made from that plan.
Teeth for the Healing Months
On the Same-Day Fixed Teeth and Premium pathways the aim is to leave with a temporary bridge screwed into place. 2 That rests on your bone and on how firmly the implants hold once they're in, so it can't be promised beforehand; if they aren't firm enough, you head back to Arbroath wearing a temporary denture, and the fixed bridge goes on after the implants have settled, with no change to your pathway fee. On the healed and staged pathways you wear a denture while the implants heal. After sedation, someone else has to drive you home.

Four pathways, each with its own fee per jaw. Every one covers the CT scan, 3D planning, your written plan, the surgery, the final bridge and reviews until you're finished; what differs is where you start and how you finish. Treating both jaws means two arch fees, added up for you on the written plan. 1
