Porcelain Veneers, Broughty Ferry
Wear Your New Smile Before You Commit
A porcelain veneer at our Brook Street practice costs from £695 per tooth. It's a slim ceramic shell fixed to the front surface of a tooth to alter its shade, outline or length. Before any tooth is prepared you try a temporary version, and nothing goes further until you're happy with how it looks.
A set of six porcelain veneers begins at £4,170. 1 The digital design and trial fitting are included in the fee. The consultation itself is free, apart from a £40 deposit refunded within 7 days of your visit.

Veneers are charged per tooth. These are the totals we're asked about most often, with composite shown beside them so you can compare. 1
Every tooth and its fee is set out in your written plan, and that figure is what you pay.
| Number of teeth | Porcelain | Composite |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | From £695 | £395 |
| 6 | From £4,170 | £2,350, including whitening |
| 8 | From £5,560 | £3,150, including whitening |
| 10 | From £6,950 | £3,950, including whitening |
Across Dundee and Angus, the practices that publish prices tend to charge roughly £350 to £765 per porcelain veneer, and few make clear whether the design work, temporaries or a review visit are included. Whitening the neighbouring teeth beforehand is £350. Fees checked October 2026.
What Veneers Can Put Right
A veneer changes the way a tooth looks from the front. It can't move teeth, so where the bite is crooked it's generally better to straighten first and prepare afterwards.
Stubborn Discolouration
Deep-set staining that whitening couldn't lift, or a single tooth that turned grey after a knock years ago.
Chipped or Shortened Edges
Front teeth ground shorter over time, or with corners broken off.
Gaps
Small spaces between the upper front teeth, closed without the need for braces.
Unusual Shapes and Sizes
Peg-shaped lateral teeth, or teeth that seem too small or too short for your face.
Slight Irregularity
Minor rotations and steps hidden from view. Larger ones get straightened first.
Ageing Dental Work
Discoloured bonding or old veneers replaced with a new design.
Before and After: Three Veneer Patients
In each case the veneers took the place of tired dental work or changed the colour and shape of the teeth. All three were treated across our group of practices. Pull the handle sideways to switch between before and after.

From the design appointment to the day your veneers are fitted usually takes three to four weeks.
The laboratory accounts for most of that. Every veneer is crafted by hand, which is why it can't be done in a day.
Records and Design
Dr Sharma photographs and films your smile, then scans your teeth in 3D with the iTero Lumina. Your new teeth are designed over images of your own face.
Trial Smile
A temporary resin copy of the design is fitted over your teeth. Chat, laugh, take a few selfies and let us know what you'd alter.
Preparation
Guided by the approved design, a fine layer of enamel is taken away, often a fraction of a millimetre. You go home in temporaries.
Fitting and Follow-Up
We check every veneer for fit and shade, bond it in place and polish it. A later visit confirms your bite is comfortable.
Porcelain or Composite?
Either can look completely natural. Where they differ is in lifespan, how much enamel is involved and what they cost.
| Feature | Porcelain veneers | Composite veneers |
|---|---|---|
| Enamel | A thin layer comes off permanently | Normally untouched; we'll say beforehand if any must go |
| Look | The nearest match to real enamel, and holds its shade | Natural at first, but loses lustre and picks up stain with time |
| Lifespan | Commonly ten to fifteen years and beyond | Usually three to five years before it needs refreshing |
| Visits | Three, beginning with a trial smile | One or two |
| Cost per tooth | From £695 | £395 |

Colour and Outline
There's no catalogue of stock teeth here. Dr Sharma designs from your photographs, so each veneer is planned to suit your own features.
How Many Veneers?
That depends on how many teeth are on show when you smile. For most people it's between six and ten in the upper jaw, which is why that's the typical number.
Others need just one or two, perhaps to match a single tooth that has darkened. Blending a lone veneer with the natural teeth beside it takes real skill, so lightening those teeth first is usually sensible.
The design identifies each tooth we'd change, and your written plan attaches a fee to every one before treatment starts.
