Teeth Whitening in Broughty Ferry
Dentist-led home whitening on Brook Street costs £350, or £315 if you're on one of our dental plans. Your teeth are checked first, slim trays are made from a 3D scan, and you take home prescribed Boutique gel to wear over the following two to three weeks.
Whitening comes included with our Invisalign and composite bonding packages. In the UK, it's illegal for anyone other than a registered dental professional to whiten teeth.

An Examination First
Before any gel goes near your teeth, we look for decay, gum trouble and failing fillings.

The Timeline
Three brief appointments on Brook Street, with two to three weeks of wearing trays at home in between.
Assessment and Scan
We examine your teeth and gums and note any crowns, fillings or bonding near the front. A quick iTero scan follows, for the trays.
Picking Up Your Trays
We confirm the fit, demonstrate how small a dot of gel each tooth takes, and record your starting shade.
Wearing Them at Home
Trays go in daily for the period we prescribe. Most people see a change inside the first week, and it carries on improving from there.
Review
We hold the new shade against the record from your first visit and agree together whether you've got to the colour you wanted.
Will It Be Sensitive?
Plenty of people feel nothing at all; some do. During the course, teeth can give a short, sharp reaction to cold lasting a few seconds. It passes, it does no damage to the tooth, and it disappears within days of finishing.
Already have sensitive teeth? Mention it at the assessment. A sensitive toothpaste from two weeks before, shorter sessions and the occasional night off all take the edge off, and you reach the same shade, just a little more slowly.
What Stays the Same Colour
The gel works on natural enamel only. Crowns, veneers, white fillings and bonding stay the shade they were made in, so any at the front can end up looking darker next to lightened teeth.
At the assessment we'll show you which ones, and plan to redo any that would show in the new shade once you're done. If bonding or veneers are on your list, whiten first and have them matched to the brighter result.
Grey discolouration from childhood antibiotics, or from a tooth that has lost its nerve, responds less well, and we'll be straight with you about what's realistic. 2

Making It Last
Stain gradually returns. For most people the result stays good for a year or longer, and daily habits are the biggest factor.
