Implant Costs, Broughty Ferry
Our fees for a single tooth, several teeth or an entire jaw, what each one includes and excludes, how they compare across Dundee and Angus, and how to line up two quotes fairly.
What Do Dental Implants Cost in Broughty Ferry?
A single dental implant complete with its crown starts at £2,605 at Ferry Smile Studios, before any bone grafting. That figure takes in the digital planning, the MegaGen AnyRidge implant, placement through a 3D-printed guide, the abutment that connects the two, and the crown itself. The CT scan is charged separately at £160, and a graft, only where your scan says you need one, is £535 or £998. The consultation is free, and a full jaw of fixed teeth begins at £9,300 per arch.
The Fees in One Table
An implant and crown to replace one missing tooth begins at £2,605 with us. 1 That number is simply two items combined: the implant itself, from £1,605, plus the crown that is screwed to it, £1,000. Every figure in the table comes directly from our published fee list, so what you read on this page is what you will be quoted at reception.

What Is Inside the Single-Tooth Price
The headline figure covers everything from planning through to the finished tooth. Step by step, it pays for:
- A digital plan drawn up on your CT scan, so the implant's size, width and angle are settled well in advance
- A surgical guide, printed in 3D to match that plan and used alongside the MegaGen R2 guided system
- The implant: a MegaGen AnyRidge, from a manufacturer whose implants carry the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal
- The abutment linking the implant to the crown
- A crown made from an iTero Lumina digital scan of your teeth, with no impression putty, colour-matched to the teeth around it
- The review appointments during healing, plus the fitting visit
- A 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months
Our implant dentist plans each case on the CT scan and then places the implant personally, so the person who designed your treatment is the same person who carries it out.

The Possible Extras, and the Reasons for Them
Plenty of people pay the headline fee and not a penny more. Others need one or two of the items below, and your written plan will say so before you commit to anything:
- CT scan, £160. Almost no implant is placed without one. With single and multiple implants it carries its own charge because many people have the scan, go away to think, and decide not to proceed, and the scan belongs to them whatever they choose. Members of our plan pay £144.
- Bone graft, at £535 for a small one or £998 for a large one. Needed only when the ridge is too narrow or too shallow. A good many people need neither. How we make that call is covered in our bone grafting guide.
- Removing the failed tooth. A straightforward extraction is £125; a surgical extraction is £450.
- Something temporary over a front gap while it heals. That means either an immediate acrylic denture (£495) or a resin-bonded bridge costing £675 for each unit. For back teeth this is seldom needed.
- IV sedation. £500 for the session, with £250 for each further half hour.
Two Example Cases
A lower molar lost some years back. On the scan, the ridge has thinned slightly, so a small graft is placed at the same time as the implant. CT scan £160, implant with crown £2,605, small graft £535: a total of £3,300.
A fractured front tooth that still needs extracting. A CT scan, a simple extraction, the implant with its crown, plus an immediate denture so you are never without a front tooth at work: £3,385 all in, with no graft required.
Treat these as worked examples, not quotes. What you pay depends on what your scan reveals, and it is confirmed in writing before your first treatment appointment. 1
More Than One Tooth, or a Full Jaw
Adjacent implants are priced per implant and per crown, so a pair next to each other begins at £5,210. Where a run of three or more teeth is missing, two implants supporting a short bridge is frequently the smarter design as well as the more economical one, and we will cost that for you too.
For an entire jaw you have two choices. Fixed full-arch / All-on-4 teeth means one bridge screwed onto implants, and we price it per arch as four pathways: Healed Foundation at £9,300, Staged Treatment at £11,500, Same-Day Fixed Teeth at £13,500 and Premium Guided Zirconia at £14,950. The first two rest on four implants, and the two same-day routes on four to six. The first three finish with an acrylic / PMMA bridge as standard, and Healed Foundation can be upgraded to zirconia on a titanium bar for an extra £2,500 per arch; Premium alone brings in a made-to-measure surgical guide, and includes a zirconia bridge carried on a titanium bar. Whichever fits you, its fee covers the assessment, the CBCT scan, 3D planning, the surgery that pathway involves, the permanent bridge and your reviews until treatment is done. Fixed temporary teeth on surgery day belong to the Same-Day and Premium pathways only, and even then they hinge on your bone and on how firm the implants are once in, 2 so nobody can promise them beforehand; your written plan describes the fallback, and the pathway fee doesn't move if you need it. Both jaws on the Healed Foundation pathway come to £18,600, and any two-arch plan shows the combined total.
An implant-retained denture snaps onto implants, is taken out to be cleaned, and starts from £8,500 per jaw. Who suits which is explained on our full-arch page and our implant-retained dentures page.
How Our Fee Compares Locally
In October 2026 we checked the published fees of practices across Dundee and Angus. Those that publish any figure were quoting a single implant with crown at roughly £2,275 to £3,000, and most sat somewhere between £2,500 and £2,700. Across Scotland as a whole the typical range is around £2,000 to £3,000. A large number of practices publish no implant fee whatsoever, which makes comparison difficult until you are already in the chair.
At £2,605, our single-tooth fee lands in the upper half of that range. What you get for it is set out above: CT-based planning, a printed surgical guide, an implant system you can look up by name, the crown, and the guarantee. A price at the lower end of the range can be perfectly fair too, provided the same things are included. For full-arch work, our Healed Foundation fee sits towards the bottom of the per-arch prices published locally; when you compare, check whether a quote includes extractions and temporary teeth, which with us depend on the pathway.
Why Quotes for the Same Tooth Differ
One patient from Carnoustie and another from Forfar can show us quotes several hundred pounds apart for what appears to be identical treatment. The reason is nearly always one of these:
- The headline leaves something out. Some figures cover the implant only, with the crown, abutment or scan appearing further down.
- Planning. CT scans and printed guides are not free, and they take the guesswork out. Placing an implant off a flat X-ray costs the practice less.
- Which implant. Systems with a long research history and spare parts available worldwide cost a practice more than little-known copies.
- Who does what. A single dentist from beginning to end, or a visiting surgeon with a different dentist fitting the crown afterwards.
- What happens afterwards. Follow-up visits, a guarantee you can read and a hygiene plan are either included in the figure or they are not.
Eight Questions to Ask Any Practice
- Are the crown and the abutment included in the figure?
- Will the implant be planned on a CT scan, and is that scan in the price?
- What implant system will you use? Name it.
- Will you use a surgical guide?
- Who will place the implant, and who will fit the crown?
- How likely am I to need a graft, and what would it cost?
- If the implant fails, what happens and who pays?
- Will the total be fixed in writing before treatment starts?
Our written plan answers all eight. Put the same questions to any other practice and compare the answers line by line. For the rest, read our guide on how to choose an implant dentist in Dundee and Angus.
The Overseas Price Gap
Clinics in Hungary and Turkey advertise implants at prices far below Scottish ones, and some of the work is perfectly good. The saving shrinks once you add flights, accommodation, repeat trips and aftercare back home, and can vanish altogether if something later needs putting right once you are home. We compare the two honestly in our implants abroad versus Scotland guide, and we are happy to review any overseas plan or completed work for you.
Is the Outlay Justified?
At the outset an implant is dearer than the alternatives. A conventional three-unit bridge costs £695 per unit, so around £2,085, and it means trimming down the teeth on either side of the gap. A small acrylic denture begins at £565 but loosens as the gum beneath it shrinks, and then needs relining or remaking.
An implant leaves the neighbours untouched and keeps the bone working, so the ridge keeps its shape. Looked after properly, an implant can serve for decades; the crown may need replacing eventually, as any crown might. Across two decades the gap in cost often evens out. All three are weighed in detail in our implant, bridge or denture guide.
Questions
This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
