Invisalign, Start to Finish
Dr Nikhil Sharma takes a course of Invisalign at our Brook Street practice one stage at a time: what costs nothing, what the package fee pays for, what may cost something later, and what sits behind the price.
How Much Is Invisalign in Broughty Ferry, and What Does the Fee Cover?
At Ferry Smile Studios, Invisalign costs between £3,250 and £4,750, and you learn your exact figure before committing to anything. The free consultation ends with a written plan naming one of four packages, and that single fee carries you from the first scan to the day your Vivera retainers are fitted, with refinements, home whitening and a hygiene visit inside it. The £40 paid to book that consultation comes back to you within 7 days of the visit. The costs that can come later are things like replacing a lost retainer.
Stage One: Finding Out Your Price
Learning what Invisalign would cost you is free. When you book, we take a £40 deposit to hold the time, and we return it within 7 days of the visit. If you need to cancel or rearrange, let us know at least 48 hours ahead. The deposit is only kept if you miss the appointment without telling us.
At the appointment Dr Nikhil Sharma examines your teeth and gums, takes an iTero Lumina scan and shows you a simulation of how the teeth could move. The distance they need to travel decides the package, so you are never asked to pick one yourself. You go home with the fee written down and can take as long as you need to decide.
If the examination turns up something to deal with first, such as decay or gum disease, that work is priced separately from our fee list and explained before you leave. You do not need to be registered with us already to come for this consultation.
Stage Two: The Figure in Your Plan
There are four Invisalign fees here, and the inclusions are the same in every one. What separates Lite from Comprehensive Plus is how much movement the plan involves, and so how many aligners are made for you.

Whichever band your scan puts you in, the figure pays for:
- X-rays and iTero scans, including any fresh scan taken for refinements
- every aligner in the package
- refinements, meaning an extra series of aligners if one or two teeth fall short near the end
- a set of Vivera retainers, £495 if bought on their own
- Boutique home whitening, normally £350
- a hygiene appointment, normally £60

Stage Three: While Your Teeth Move
You switch to a new aligner every one to two weeks at home and come back to Brook Street roughly every six to eight weeks, so Dr Sharma can confirm that each tooth is tracking, the attachments are holding and the gums are healthy. Those reviews are part of the course you have already been quoted for. So are refinements: teeth do not always follow the computer plan exactly, and if a couple lag behind, a new scan and a further series of aligners finish the job without a second bill.
Members of our dental plan pay the same Invisalign fee as everyone else, because aligners sit outside the plan discount. What membership does do is keep your routine hygienist visits included throughout the months you spend in aligners.
Stage Four: After the Last Aligner
Your Vivera retainers are handed over when the final aligner comes out, and from then on they are worn at night for good. The package includes one set. If that set is lost or damaged later, a replacement Vivera set is £495, and a clear Essix retainer is £150 for one arch or £250 for both. 1
The expense people tend to overlook is relapse. Teeth keep drifting throughout adult life, so if the retainers are abandoned and the teeth move far enough, correcting them is a fresh course of treatment, often a Lite one at £3,250. What the Fee Buys Beyond the Plastic
Aligners sold by post usually carry a lower opening price, and the trays move teeth by the same principle. The gap lies in the care around them: an examination and X-rays before anything moves, attachments bonded where the plan needs extra grip, and a dentist looking at your teeth in person every few weeks. That comparison is laid out in full in postal aligners or Invisalign.
Experience is part of it too. Diamond Apex, the highest Invisalign provider tier, has been held by our group in each year from 2022 to 2026. Align Technology reserves it for the busiest 1% of its providers in Europe, ranked on how many patients they treat, so it shows how much aligner work passes through the practice. It measures volume, not qualifications.
