Dentist in Broughty Ferry
The Ferry's Own Dentist, on Brook Street
Ferry Smile Studios sits at 196 Brook Street, a couple of minutes' walk from Broughty Ferry railway station and right among the Ferry's shops. We register children and adults on the NHS, see you privately if that suits you better, and keep weekday time free for anyone with toothache.A Brook Street practice for the whole of the Ferry. NHS places for children and adults, private care if you'd rather, and weekday slots for toothache.
196 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry DD5 2AH, two minutes from the station.
From the Castle to Barnhill
The Ferry runs a fair way along the Tay, from the harbour and Broughty Castle out past Barnhill to the newer streets at Balgillo, and our patients come from the whole of it. Brook Street is where the shops are, so a dental visit slots in beside the messages, the school run or a walk along the Esplanade.
Directions, the station and the buses are all on our getting here page.
NHS or Private, or a Bit of Each
With the NHS
Children are registered and treated on the NHS straight away. NHS dental care in Scotland is free for everyone under 26, which means a check-up for a child in the Ferry costs nothing at all. We're taking on adults as NHS patients as well: request a call back and pick the NHS option.
NHS treatment here is provided under NHS Tayside.
Private, and Straight In
If a waiting list isn't for you, a private new patient examination can be booked straight away. It costs £70 including X-rays, and the routine dental examinations (your check-ups) that follow are £70. 1
Mixing the two is common: the children on the NHS and you as a private patient, say, or NHS treatment today and an implant further down the line. Our dental plans begin at £24.10 a month.
Everyday Dentistry
The things most people in the Ferry want from their dentist, done well and with the price on the table.

Toothache During the Week
Call us first thing. Emergency slots are held back each weekday for people in the Ferry who are in pain, registered with us or not.
The Team You'll Meet
Dr Lisa Respinger and our other general dentists handle check-ups, fillings, root canal treatment, crowns, extractions and emergency appointments, for adults and children. Pretty Wilson, our hygienist, and Asmaa Khan, our dental therapist, cover the hygiene side.
Dr Nikhil Sharma, our principal dentist, does the implants, Invisalign, bonding and veneers. Should a check-up uncover something bigger, you'll see him here on Brook Street rather than being referred across Dundee.
